This is a genuine (not an after-market copy) Boston Acoustics 8" woofer model number 300-200 W00J04.  The original decorative front mounting ring accepts four (4) black-head Philips screws (those original mounting screws will be included) which screws pass through the acoustically very-open black mesh, then pass through the speaker's metal outer ring, pressing this assembly tightly against your mounting wood enclosure.  The speaker system's original "Boston" Identification signature label was saved and
with 3-M contact adhesive
attached to the bezel center, aligned between the mounting screws.  Should you wish to remove it after buying it, you may apply "Goo Gone" with a cue tip, then after the adhesive softens, lift it off and clean any remaining adhesive with Goo Gone.  If you would prefer to have me remove it before shipping it to you, just tell me.  I liked having this original  Boston identifier displayed.  Your choice entirely.
Not many 8 inch woofers weight this much, but that unusually high weight is the result of having an especially massive magnet structure to more accurately maintain alignment between the speaker cone position compared to electrical driving wave forms.  These are known for producing accurate base sounds rather than more usual loose "Muddy" base that tends to cause many signal sources sound about the same, whether they were recorded from drum beats or deep organ pedal waves that may be more felt than heard.
This is a good clean example I've owned for a long time but never got around to using.  I still prefer my big full-range electrostatic Acoustat Monitor 4s driven by tube type amps.  Higher maintenance but amazing sound.  Time to let this spare speaker find a new home.
